There are many SEO factors for a good search engine ranking and backlinks are still one of them today.

If you want to appear as far ahead as possible on Google, you need, among other things, a lot of good backlinks, i.e. links from other blogs and websites.

So today I would like to present 16 tips on how to get simple and fast backlinks. I also describe best practices and my own experiences as a blogger for many years.

Many roads lead to Rome or to backlinks

There are of course a variety of ways to get backlinks from other blogs and websites. But not all are easy and doable for every blogger.

The following 16 methods have proven to be the most effective for me in the past. In this context, effective means with as little effort as possible at the lowest possible cost.

This is important to me because I mainly want to write articles and not spend long hours building backlinks.

I have used the following tips myself in the past to create new backlinks for new as well as existing blogs and websites.

Of course, there is no guarantee that these tips will work for everyone. The individual requirements are simply too different for that. But you should try them out and see what works well for you.

High quality items

The basis for many backlinks are high-quality and interesting articles that cannot be found anywhere else. Tutorials , instructions, Top10 lists and other high-quality articles are also often linked by other bloggers and website owners.

Ask yourself what you would link to on other blogs and then write an article like that.

Social web

But the high-quality items are only one side of the coin. If nobody finds out about it, then nobody can set a backlink.

So share your very good articles on social networks like Facebook or Twitter . Also Pinterest is a very good platform if you make appropriate graphics to it.

The best thing to do is to add the voting / sharing buttons of the various social websites to your blog (e.g. using the Shariff Wrapper plugin in accordance with data protection regulations) so that sharing your article is even easier.

RoundUp article

Bringing other bloggers and website owners on board is a great way to get lots of easy and fast backlinks.

In a RoundUp article you summarize the answers of some other experts in your own niche to a specific question and in this way offer a highly interesting and readable contribution.

In addition, the participants in a round-up article like to link to what the coveted backlinks bring.

Increase RSS readership

Even if RSS feeds are no longer as important as they were a few years ago, a large number of feed subscribers also helps a lot in building backlinks.

Because among the readers of RSS feeds there are naturally many bloggers who use the RSS feed medium more often than average users. And the feed readers with their own blog also like to link interesting articles from time to time.

Link exchange

I’m not really a big fan of link swapping, but there are exceptions. If someone contacts me who runs a really thematically appropriate and high-quality blog, then I will be happy to link them.

The indirect mutual linking is also interesting. That means I’m linking to each other’s blog 1 and getting a backlink from the other’s blog 2. Then it doesn’t look so obviously like a link exchange to Google.

But don’t start begging for links. There has to be a win / win situation for both bloggers. I always ask myself what people expect who email me a link exchange request regarding “ self-employed in the net ”, even though their blog is only 2 weeks old.

Linkbait

Special articles that are only there to generate backlinks are called linkbaits.

A while ago I noticed such a linkbait again . Someone criticized dozens of blogs and their content. Of course, this attracts attention and some of the blogs concerned will probably have written about it, including a backlink. Linkbaits primarily attract attention (positive or negative) and thus get a lot of backlinks.

However, one should be careful here, not just to provoke, for the sake of provoking. You can quickly get into trouble, which prevents later collaborations or the like.

In addition, you should stay honest with the linkbaits and not do it like many current online media and deceive or even lie to the readers with the headlines.

Comments

If you want to stay up to date yourself, you inevitably read a lot of blogs yourself. At least I feel that way.

It is a good idea to comment there as well. Sometimes there is also a decent backlink (without nofollow) and you are noticed with many high-quality comments. Both the other readers and the blog owner, which may lead to further cooperation.

Of course, comment backlinks are not of high quality, but they are also part of a normal backlink profile.

Interviews

For me, interviews have proven to be very efficient. Other bloggers and website owners like attention. So when you ask if you can interview someone, you often get positive feedback.

The creation of the questions is then usually done relatively quickly and hopefully you will get comprehensive and interesting answers from the interview partner.

And of course the interviewees like to link to the interview and share it on the social web.

High quality directories

There are high-quality directories. Anyone who is on the lookout for thematically high-quality directories in their industry can get thematically appropriate and high-quality backlinks with relatively little effort.

However, many online directories have been neglected or punished by Google for little in the way of poor quality in recent years. So here you should look very carefully.

Regional backlinks

Regional backlinks are also quite easy to get. Usually your own city, club, local companies etc. have their own link lists.

A nice request for a backlink is often met, especially if you have personal contact or offer something in return, such as a backlink.

Private backlinks

Partners, joy, acquaintances etc. should simply be asked whether they can set a link to their own blog. This is often not a problem today due to many social profiles and so you have the first important backlinks.

In addition, certain acquaintances and friends run one or the other website, which is also a good source for a first backlink.

Guest articles

If you manage to post a guest article on a popular blog, you will usually get a valuable backlink in addition to a lot of attention.

For this, however, it is necessary that you have really high-quality content in your own blog. In addition, you should really invest a lot of work in the guest article and deliver a very good article.

Provide download

A very effective method of getting backlinks is by offering a free download. Be it an eBook, a checklist , a WordPress theme, a tool, a WordPress plugin or whatever.

Such free offers in particular usually attract a lot of backlinks, because people love them. I often see that normal blog articles are offered as PDF downloads and are therefore much more interesting for many users.

Write about others

Writing about other blogs, websites, and people has always been very effective for me. For example, my income reports , in which I used to list the monthly income of other blogs, kept bringing me new backlinks.

If you write about others, you attract the attention of those “affected” and many like to link such articles.

Link yourself!

My most important advice is always that you shouldn’t be afraid of linking yourself. Those who link a lot to other blogs and websites not only delight their own readers, but usually also get a lot of links back.

Even with backlinks, there is a give and take.
