LINK BUILDING STRATEGIES
Off Page optimization: link strategy
Here are ten tips you can use to increase the number of good links on your homepage:
- Perform on-site optimization first. Only a tidy and well-maintained page with interesting content will be recommended and linked by others.
- Competitor Analysis: Who is Linking to the Competitors’ Pages? Inquire at the appropriate offices and also ask for a link
- What about partners? Associations, suppliers, customers, references? Satisfied business partners will be happy to recommend your offer to others.
- Entry in the most important directories. Caution: only choose reputable providers. It is important to pay attention to careful information when registering. Inclusion in a directory is usually voluntary and you have to rely on the good will of the respective editors.
- Research which forums or blogs are suitable for your own contributions. Leave entries there (and of course links). However, clumsy advertising should be avoided here. Such posts are quickly deleted . Basic rule: Links will only be successful if you can offer good and useful content. This is especially true for entries in blogs and forums.
- Avoid dubious measures such as barter rings (“If I link you, you link me). These are usually of no use and carry the risk of being devalued by the search engines.
- Ask friends and acquaintances if you have a link on your page. Often the circle of friends already offers good starting points for additional links. Sports clubs or contacts from social networks such as Facebook or Xing are also conceivable.
- Nonprofit Organizations : Do you volunteer for a nonprofit organization? Then maybe they’ll give you a link out of gratitude.
- Publish articles : There are numerous free press portals and article directories in which you can publish your own articles. If these contributions are of sufficient quality (usually checked beforehand by an editor), the text will be online after a short time. The advantage: you can link to your own website within the text.
- Social networks, widgets, RSS feeds : Get involved in Facebook, Twitter and Co. Build a fan page on Facebook, create an RSS feed to which your users can subscribe to keep them informed about new posts on your site can. In the future, the ranking in the search engines will be influenced even more by social factors such as recommendations or ratings.
